Just like today, we were being asked to sign over our freedoms. It is the freedoms given us by God, and protected by the Constitution that make this a great nation. Not the dependance on government. Dependance on government just makes us lazy by taking away incentive to work hard and make ourselves better. When you don't have to stand on your own two feet, you will become fat and lazy with no incentive to improve your life.
We do not need more government intrusion in our lives, we need LESS! It seems that everything is twisted upside down these days. During the Bush administration they took freedom away from us with amoung other things the "Patriot Act." It seems that the Dems want to take everything from the wealthy and give it to the poor. You know a Robin Hood thing. If it were only that simple. It seems now more than ever that the Dems want to not only take wealth but our freedoms. Freedom isn't just taken from the wealthy, it is taken from EVERYONE!
Don't believe for a minute that this is just beginning with the current administration. Freedom has been taken since Woodrow Wilson.
